Akila's first camera was a $16 Nikon point-and-shoot that her parents bought her when she was 10 years old. Relatives soon began asking for her pictures rather than those from professional wedding photographers. Today, she shoots with a Nikon D40 and focuses on food and animal photography. Her talented husband takes the scenery and portrait shots available at The Road Forks. Akila's photography has been featured on Tastespotting, Foodgawker, Photograzing, and FoodPhotoBlog.
